Waxing Pre & Post Care
How to prepare for your appointment

-
Hair Length: Hair should be about 1/4 inch long (about the size of a grain of rice) for best results. If your hair is longer, please trim before your appointment.
-
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate the area to be waxed a day or two before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs.
-
Avoid sun exposure: Refrain from tanning or spending excessive time in the sun before your appointment, if the area to be treated is sunburnt you will be turned away.
-
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment to keep your skin hydrated, which can help reduce discomfort during waxing.
-
Skip moisturizer: Avoid applying lotions or oils to the area to be waxed on the day of your appointment, as they can create a barrier that interferes with the wax adhering properly to the hair.
-
Wear comfortable clothing: Opt for loose-fitting clothing to wear to your appointment to prevent irritation from friction after waxing.
-
Communicate any concerns: Inform your esthetician of any allergies, skin sensitivities, or medications you're taking to ensure a safe and effective waxing experience.
-
Take pain relievers if needed: If you're concerned about discomfort, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen or acetaminophen about 30 minutes before your appointment.
Post Treatment Instructions

-
Avoid touching the waxed area: Refrain from touching or scratching the waxed area to prevent irritation or infection.
-
Wear loose clothing: Opt for breathable and loose-fitting clothing to avoid friction and irritation on the waxed skin.
-
Skip hot baths and showers: Avoid hot baths, showers, saunas, or steam rooms for at least 24 hours after waxing, as the heat can irritate the skin.
-
Stay out of the sun: Protect the waxed area from direct sunlight for at least 24 hours, as it can increase sensitivity and risk of sunburn.
-
Moisturize: Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to the waxed area to keep the skin hydrated and soothe any irritation.
-
Avoid exfoliation: Don't exfoliate the waxed area for at least 48 hours to prevent irritation. After 48 hours it is recommended you exfoliate to avoid ingrown hairs.
-
Treat any redness or bumps: If you experience redness or bumps after waxing, apply a soothing lotion containing aloe vera to calm the skin.
-
Maintain a regular waxing schedule: Plan your next waxing appointment based on your hair growth cycle to maintain smooth results.
-
Follow post-waxing instructions: If your esthetician provides specific post-waxing instructions, be sure to follow them carefully for optimal results and to minimize any potential side effects.
